Another successful international information rally was held in Herceg Novi on June 14, with clear and unique conclusion: there is a great demand for urgent and vast investment in information training of citizenry in our region!
This year's traditional rally, with the task to share experiences and discuss development in ICT field- information and communication technologies, gathered about two hundred participants from the region, from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia. An unique rally's message and large quantity of topics regarding information education and information society development, unquestionably pointed to urgent demand for vast investment in national literacy, specially regarding usage of computers and its benefits for entire society's development.
As expected, Slovenia, as a country with greatest results regarding this matter, had had the most presenters whose presentations were very interesting. It is obvious that this country built information society from the first school classes in elementary and high schools, with a great support from society in ensuring of equipment and means. Examples from Kranj, Bistrica, Jesenice, Tržič, Maribor, Radovljica and Bleda were presented in this meeting as clear confirmation of quality results and projection for future movements of other countries in the region.
Serbian Republic statistics office, Strategic studies Institute and projection from Podgorica, and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s information association, with introductory presentation, had shown statistic information and current position of these countries regarding computer usage. Later presentations during the whole working week have perfectly fitted into previously stated statistic data, pointing to individual elements of collective chart and positively gained practice, as a role model for others to improve ICT in every day's economic and non-economic life. From Serbian side, presentations of RATEL in Belgrade, Public Enterprise of PTT communications 'Srbija', 'Mihajlo Pupin' Institute, Public health Institute, RUV Radio Television of Vojvodina, Business school of Belgrade, IQ Studios, Belgrade, Megatrend University in Belgrade, High business-technology school from Užice, Elementary school 'Jovan Popović', Novi Sad and High railway transportation school for specialized studies in Belgrade were very interesting. Participants from other countries in the region attracted special attention too: these were University for University for transportation- Doboj, Administrative office of Banja Luka, Ericsson Croatia, and Electro technical University in Banja Luka, SPiDCOM Eastern Europe, and Institute for strategic studies and projections from Podgorica, Odprta academy from Slovenia Z.N., Company from Slovenia, etc.
Emil Lačok from NIS Novi Sad, M.A. Franci Rozman, High school principal in Kranj and Metod Čufar, Hidh School from Jesenica got special awards for specialized contribution to JISA DICG congress.
EBC ECDL Test Center from Belgrade in cooperation with JISA, as national carrier of ECDL license for this region, held free ECDL promotional testing for more than ten beginners. Among those Mr. Andrija Bednarik from SIEPA – Serbian Agency for export encouraging was the first who successfully finished all tests and next to ECDL diploma, he got a special gift: ECDL golf club.
Mr. Marko Tikvaroski from Metropolis Television, the winner of traditional JISA tennis tournament and Goran Šajinović from PTT Serbian Republic, Banja Luka, the winner for ‘the best photo’, have got Sony Ericsson mobile phones.
JISA DICG Congress organizers, on one side JISA – information association of Serbia and, on the other side DICG – information society in Montenegro, expressed their pleasure to see that the Congress is becoming, year after year, richer in specialized works. They were also very pleased to witness high turnout. Visitors came from every county in the region. This emphasized growing necessity towards united platform for ICT development and unique standards in region.
