15th Congress JISA DCIG held

In the period from 13 to 19 June, the 15th anniversary Congress JISA DICG was held in the organisation of JISA – Union of ICT Societies of Serbia, and DICG – Montenegrin ICT Society. Mr Adis Balota, the assistant to the Minister of the Information Society of Montenegro, opened the Congress, highlighting the importance this manifestation had for the development of information and communication technologies in the region and presenting the plans which would increase the efficiency of new technologies in respect to the development of information society, increase of work results and economic development of Montenegro and the region.

Because of the global economic crisis, this year’s meeting had somewhat smaller number of participants that on previous years, but, according to the general impression, it had a great choice of high quality topics, as well as vast range of very interesting works. As on previous gatherings, the focus was on information literacy, so a free course with ECDL testing was organised during the Congress. ČIKOM company made a great contribution by landing the equipment, together with companies T-Com, which provided free Internet access, and EBC, which provided the Internet application. Everybody who passed the exams received from JISA free ECDL cards, i.e. diplomas.
The representatives from Slovenia, of which the greater part was traditionally from the field of education, were specially noted, together with interesting works from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Macedonia.
A prominent European analyst and author of numerous works in the field of economics, Mr Jorn W. Rhigalt from ITM Europe, Denmark, held a seminar, which was compatible with the economic situation and very topical. This seminar under the name “Creation and implementation of dynamic International Business Plan for ICT companies who wants to penetrate Europe“ caused the greatest interest and attracted the participants to listen to the whole presentation without blinking an eye. Extremely high quality advices and global thinking can be useful for all of us to overcome obstacles and enter foreign markets.
Presentations of Montenegro Post, Mihajlo Pupin Institute from Belgrade, PE Naftagas - Novi Sad, Eurokompozit 11 Oktomvri - Prilep and the Ministry of Mining and Energetics of the Republic of Serbia attracted special attention as well.

The organisers of Congress JISA DICG expressed their own satisfaction because from year to year,  the meeting had becoming richer with expert papers from all countries of our region, which implied the growing need towards a unified ICT development platform and unified standards in the region.
Sony Ericsson Open Congress JISA

The traditional tennis tournament, sponsored by Sony Ericsson, has again this year attracted special attention. Favored Vladimir Aleksic from Telekom Serbia and Djordje Dukic from JISA both lost in the quarter-finals and after a huge effort through muggy weather Stevan Ljumovic from DICG and Mark Domanovic from Pharmaceutical facilities Belgrade, came to the finals.

The winner was Mr. Ljumovic for whom we have later found out that has the most tennis experience among information workers and that he is the Vice President of the Tennis Federation of Montenegro, which he had displayed in his game and thus totally deserved to win this year's top model Sony Ericsson X2 Experia!
